Hardcore dancing… really really gay
I know I’m not the one to brag about Metal/Hardcore/Scenester concerts, but really, Hardcore dancing to me is really really gay! (Not the homosexual kind) Whoever invented this ridiculous shit must die. Flaling your arms around and those stupid fucking acrobatic shit that day to, just a no for me. No wonder why hardcore/scene kids gets beaten to a pulp at Metal concerts. Moshing is great, headbanging is great, crowd surfing is great, but hardcore dancing is just something that is utter shit. I despise it with a passion. Its reminds me of those animal mating videos, but you know this guys are not getting laid because of how tight there jeans are, or how hyped up on steroids this tough guy jocks.
If you don’t know by now, I went to the concert, and Modern Exchange was crowded by tough guy hardcore mails, and scene kids who gives me and my friend shit because we just bust out laughing on the corner. The music was also filled with stupid breakdowns for kids to start hardcore dancing to.

But yeah, anyway, I totally agree. Extreme dancing at shows is dumb. I dunno if it’s true, but Ian MacKaye claims the reason that concert tickets shot up so much in the ’90s is because of all these MTV-encouraged things like hardcore dancing and crowd surfing that caused a rise in security forces at concerts. Basically, because people were dancing like dumbasses and hurting other people/themselves, they had to hire all this extra security — and that makes tickets cost more.
MacKaye said that Fugazi couldn’t get insurance to play in California after a dude climbed to the top of one of their amp stacks and was all like, “WHOOO!!!” And Ian was like, “Yo dude, get down! You’re going to get hurt.” And the guy was like, “WHOOO!!!” He decided that, instead of getting down reasonably, he’d jump into the audience. But yeah, people don’t catch you when you fly down from several feet above them. So they just moved to the side. He smashed into the ground and ended up damaging himself pretty badly. He sued because he was “a model” and they’d ruined his source of income. And that’s what made it expensive for Fugazi to tour in Cali.
So yeah.
Obvious lesson is obvious: douchebags ruin shows.

Well see, I don’t mosh, but some people in concerts who do mosh purposely drag people in the pits. I hate having to consciously watch my back every 5 minutes for assholes dragging other people in there own stupidity. If they are going to start moshing then please do it respectively.
Its the same purpose for hardcore dancing. This kids gets so riled up that they punch, wind mill, kick any open space until they get some innocent person knocked on the ground. Its bullshit.
I’m all for having fun at concerts but these things really distracts from people who just want to see the band live.

I couldn’t agree more with this post. What kind of mosh pit is worth being in where no one is even touching eachother. I think this dance evolved because there weren’t enough kids at hard core shows to even have a pit, so they just danced by themselves. Now that there are huge concerts, there is no reason to dance like an idiot. The idea of hardcore is chaos and destruction, nothing goes against that more than these wanna be dancers showing off their anger moves you know they practice at home. They look so hard when they do it, but in the pit you can knock these idiots over with one shove. Then they try to fight you. I love when they dance like this and flail around hitting innocent people with their stupid kicks and punches. Its like they got their ass kicked to many times in a real pit, so the only way they can feel tough is catching some person trying to watch the show off guard with a flying boot to the head. I really don’t care if they try to do it in the pit, because they just get their ass kicked by other people moshing, and thats what its all about.
